Guide to Online Training

Online Videos

DO NOT watch the videos and perform the movements at the same time, as this method is inefficient in memorizing the material and you can miss detail when you need to change directions. There are 2 methods in using the online videos:

Using Videos to Learn Forms

  • It’s preferable to use a laptop or desktop computer. Videos will work on a tablet or mobile phone, but may be too small to catch details.
  • Watch the video 2-3 moves at a time, and repeat watching these 2-3 moves until you have the sequence memorized.
    • The speed of the videos can be changed by clicking the settings (gear icon) at the bottom of the videos. See image 1 below.
    • Follow the arm patches to help with orientation of movements. See image 1 below.
  • Repeat this process of watching 2-3 moves at a time until you have the whole form memorized!

Using Videos to Refine Forms

  • If you already have learned a form, then the videos can be a supplement to fill in any gaps you may have missing.
  • Treat the videos as you would your notes:
    • Try doing the form a few times without the video/your notes to help with memory recall.
    • Once you have tried the form, then refer to the video/your notes to fill in the gaps.

Livestreams

  • It’s preferable to use a laptop or desktop computer. Videos will work on a tablet or mobile phone, but may be too small to catch details.
  • Livestreams are available for all classes. Log in to the provided link during your appropriate class times.
  • When you first log in for that days classes, you’ll need to be admitted by admin. It may take a few minutes for us to accept depending where we are with the current class.
  • Please mute your microphone when you are not actively asking a question so that all students in person and online can hear the instruction.
  • Online videos are available for the content that we’ll be working on during class. If you find it difficult to follow along through the live stream, you can watch the videos at your own pace during class time.
  • You can pin the class live stream so that you’re viewing the video of the class full screen and not view other students videos. See image 2 below.
